Your free Quick Assessment worksheet

You don’t need to memorize the research. You don’t need to reread the chapters. You need to answer three questions honestly — right now — about the decision that’s keeping you up at night.

It’s the Quick Assessment worksheet on one printable page.

  1. Print it or save it. Use the button below. It’s free, and there’s nothing to sign up for.
  2. Take five minutes. Think of one real decision. Rate each variable honestly.
  3. Name one next move. One action, with a date.

Nothing you type here is saved or sent anywhere.

The Quick Assessment

The Go Decision in Five Minutes

Step 1 Rate Your Three Variables

On a scale of 1–10, rate each variable for your specific decision:

Opportunity

Is there a genuine, externally validated open door? Not something I’m creating from scratch — something that exists?

  • 1–3No real opportunity. I’m manufacturing this out of desire.
  • 4–6There might be something, but I’m not sure it’s real yet.
  • 7–10The door is clearly open. I didn’t have to force it. Others confirm it’s real.

Ability

Do I honestly have the skills — hard and soft — to execute on this right now?

  • 1–3I’d be learning on the job in a dangerous way. Major gaps.
  • 4–6I have some relevant skills but significant gaps remain.
  • 7–10I can do this. I have evidence from experience, not just confidence from enthusiasm.

Resource

Do I have the financial runway, network, tools, and support to sustain this through the hard part?

  • 1–3I’m running on fumes and hope. No real runway.
  • 4–6I have some resources but not enough to weather a setback.
  • 7–10I’m resourced. I have people, money, and infrastructure that can take a hit.

Step 2 Read Your Result

All three are 7+?

LET’S GO. The conditions are present. Stop analyzing and start executing. Build a 14-day action plan and move.

Opportunity + Ability are strong, but Resource is low?

COLLABORATE. Find a partner, organization, or network that brings the missing resources. Don’t try to go it alone when you don’t have to.

Opportunity + Resource are strong, but Ability is low?

LEARN. Invest in targeted, applied skill development before you launch. Find a mentor, coach, or training program that addresses your specific gaps. Close the gap, then go.

Ability + Resource are strong, but Opportunity is low?

THINK. Don’t force it. Write down exactly what a genuine opportunity would look like. Set a specific date to reassess. Stay sharp, stay ready, stay patient.

If more than one score is low, start with the lowest one.

Step 3 Name Your One Next Move

Not five moves. Not a strategic plan with twelve action items. One move. The single action that addresses your diagnosis:

  • If Collaborate: Who is one person or organization I can contact this week who has what I’m missing?
  • If Learn: What is one skill I can begin developing this week through coaching, training, or practice?
  • If Think: What is one signal I should actively monitor that would indicate a genuine opportunity is forming?
  • If Let’s Go: What is the single first action I need to take in the next 48 hours?

Write it down. Put a date on it. Tell someone who will hold you to it. That’s how the paralysis breaks.
